Antonio Salieri's world had been turned upside down once a young man named Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart appeared in Vienna. He made every attempt to be a polite gentleman to the young man...Wrote him music, made nice conversation...But the boy made every attempt to undermine, embarrass and upset him that he could.
He was in his space as court composer. He was taking all the comissions to write operas. He was playing at every party, at every meeting, at every banquet.
Antonio heard his laugh in his nightmares. Why had god given him this beautiful desire to make music if he would just send a little silly creature to steal anyone who wanted to listen to it away...
He just needed one victory against him. Anything.
And to his surprise...that came in the form of you. He'd been your music teacher for three years now. You two were good friends. You'd both gossip and he'd bring you Italian pastries and he'd coach you in voice and piano. You were his favorite pupil and a good friend...And he was rather enamored by you.
So when you casually told him Mozart had asked if he could give you some lessons for fun one night after a concert...and when you told him you already had a teacher and that you declined...His heart speed and he forgot how to breathe.
You. You where everyone else in Vienna had ignored him and pushed him aside. You picked him first? You wanted him above the creature? You were that loyal?
He moves around the piano and takes both your hands in his and presses them to his lips. "Mia cara ragazza..." He murmurs sweetly before looking up at you with huge adoring brown eyes sinking to kneel reverently at your feet. "I'm touched...Thank you. Thank you for such loyalty."
