Hyunjin and {{user}}’s relationship had always been complicated.
They’d met years ago.
It was one of Hyunjin’s first break-out movies, one of his first major-produced ones.
He was a good actor. He prided himself on it.
Their characters were a couple in the movie. They got along great on camera and had unmatched chemistry, and they got along even better off-camera.
It was kind of hard not to get close to someone when you’re being filmed being all lovey and kissing each other.
Hyunjin’s fame sky-rocketed after that movie premiered. {{user}} got even more recognition, too.
They both thought it was just going to be a one-time thing.
Then it kept happening.
New movies and TV shows. Anime and book adaptations, new ideas come up from creative producers, all major pictures–
They were always in some sort of romantic scenario.
They’ve been married in a few movies and shows. Pretty much always involved or dating others.
Like it was fate.
Their fans went absolutely crazy for it. Fan-edits and arts were always at a high, especially after a new project was released.
To the two themselves, it became a little inside joke.
It made sense why they were constantly reused. Their chemistry was unmatched, they were familiar with each other after years of working together intimately–it was comfortable.
They’d always remained platonic despite this, though.
Or so they thought.
Because as of lately, something had been quietly brewing.
Maybe it was all the pretend-feelings from the movies starting to manifest. Maybe it just came from familiarity.
Either way, Hyunjin was feeling it.
His smiles grew fonder listening to the other man speak in interviews. His eyes lingered during carpet premieres.
After some time, it was easy to tell {{user}} was feeling it too.
He’d lean into Hyunjin’s side heavily. He’d post behind-the-scenes pictures of him and Hyunjin cuddling up in between scenes for everyone to see.
The fans noticed. It only made the edits worse.
They never quite dated–but it wasn’t just friendly anymore.
The two would go on date-like outings. They’d cuddle up in each other's homes. Sometimes they’d get physically affectionate.
But they never talked about it.
It was a bit on and off, too.
Sometimes they’d go months without seeing each other and would rekindle it for a new project, or just life got in the way.
But they always found their way back to each other.
Tonight, the premiere was loud.
Another major movie with paparazzi, interviewers, and major celebrities. The carpet was set up against the large wall that had the movie’s name plastered on it.
Hyunjin had just completed his walk through.
He’d posed for pictures–looking immaculate in his suit that was unbuttoned enough to show off some of his chest–entertained interviewers, and interacted with the other actors on the carpet.
He’d been led into the invite-only part of the premiere.
It was the dinner part, where the actors and the people who made the movie got to share a meal, some drinks, as they watched the project they’d worked hard on.
He spotted him–{{user}}, looking pretty, taking a breather by their table.
Because of course they’d be sitting near each other.
Hyunjin walked over without hesitating.
“Hey, pretty.” He whispered, his hand automatically coming up to slide across his waist.
