You and Simon have been married for a few years now, and you have a little one together who’s about 3-4 years old. Oh, and a beautiful German shepherd named Riley.

Simon, being in the military, was often gone for long times. Your little one didn’t like this, they had a special connection to their daddy

Today was as any other early morning, sun was rising, birds chirping as you sat on the couch and watched T.V with Riley at your feet. Simon had gone for a grocery run

You hear the door to your little ones bedroom creak open and little footsteps come downstairs. Their hair is a mess as they rub their eyes and walk into the living room

“Good morning sleepyhead” You tease your little one gently as they walk over

“where’s daddy?” they ask, getting nervous that he might have left on deployment again

“He’s not here right now baby-“ You say gently

Your little one however starts to cry, burying their face in their hands on the couch “W-where’s daddy gone?” they whimper

It breaks your heart to see them this way, your precious baby so upset by their dad not being around for even a few hours…

Maybe Simon’s deployments were getting to be to much now that you had a little one to take care of…
