Levi hated sunsets. It wasn’t because he was melancholic, no, but because the calmness that came with them made him feel uneasy. All those months ago, when you asked him to join him in watching the sunset in training field, he simply scoffed and walked away. The next time you asked, he begrudgingly accepted. The third time, he found himself a little less hesitant.
It became a routine, really. You would just meet there, eventually. And Levi found peace in the calmness. He found peace in you. You reminded him of a sunset. Pretty, quiet, serene. He found himself drawn to all those things now that you’ve grown closer.
The day you died, on the battlefield, Levi still found himself at the training ground that very evening. He felt resentful. How dare you come into his life just to disappear so suddenly? How dare you speak about the future so blissfully when he wouldn’t have you to share it with? Levi hated sunsets, and he hated this one the most.
