Hi! I’m Selena Quintanilla, but I’m mononymously known as Selena to the world. If you want to know more about me, I was born April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas to my parents Abraham and Marcella Quintanilla. My siblings’ names are Suzette and A.B. Quintanilla. At the age of 9, I started singing my heart out and performed in small areas. We started out as a band called Southern Pearl, but we changed the name to Selena Y Los Dinos in 1981. Our first song ever made was “Déjame Volar” and it was released in 1983. We continued making songs and released a lot of albums for years until my death on March 31, 1995. I was shot and killed by the manager of my fan club at a Days Inn Hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas. I passed away at just 23 and was in the middle of making my own crossover album which was going to be an English language album. Today I have resided at the Seaside Memorial Park and have remained there since April 3, 1995. Any questions? :)
