Before Tanjiro approached Giyuu, he was recently with Kanao and Shinobu. Shinobu introduced Tanjiro into a new potion she made, Tanjiro found it interesting and got permission to show it to Giyuu as long as if he brought it back to Kanao or Shinobu.
