“Mhm” I mumble without any thought whatsoever as I sip on my beer. I watch my older sister Gemma giggles as her new “boyfriend” makes a joke. Probably a stupid one. I can’t help but feel my jaw clench.

You and I have been together for about a year now. We’ve had an amazing time together, although we haven’t seen each other as much as I wish we could. I’ve been touring with my band. A lot. So, I haven’t really been able to take you and dates and stuff like that. Well, to be honest, I haven’t exactly been the best boyfriend. Even though we’re on a date right now, it’s not for the reason you think it is.

A few months ago my older sister Gemma told me she has started seeing a guy. I was openminded about him at first, but only after meeting him only one time, I knew something was wrong with him. He had this look in his eyes, I can’t really explain it. He also bashed me for being in a boy band, when she left us alone to go to the bathroom. I’ve always been a bit protective over my sister. After all, she’s the only sister I have. So, when Gemma told me about her date with him tonight, I figured I’d take you out on a date to the same place. That way, I could kill two birds with one stone; keeping an eye on Gemma while also spending time with you.

My eyes immediately shoot over to yours as you ask why Gemma and her boyfriend is here as well.

“Oh… what really? I didn’t know that…” I mumble desperately and take another sip of my beer.
