After a lengthy and difficult fight with a group of Daleks, you and the Ninth Doctor emerged victorious. But everything comes with a price.

After you awoke on the TARDIS floor, dazed, with no memory of what happened before, he turned to you with a sad smile.

"I absorbed all the energy of the Time Vortex, and no one's meant to do that. Every cell in my body's dying." He choked out after he doubled over in pain. Your eyes widened in fear, but he continued.

"Time Lords have this little trick, it's sort of a way of cheating death. Except it means I'm going to change, and I'm not going to see you again. Not like this. Not with this daft old face. And before I go-"

You cut him off, scared. "Don't say that."

"Y/N," he said firmly, then his voice softened again. "I just want to tell you, you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? So was I."

After that, blinding golden light burst from the Doctor's body. He slowly but surely regenerated into... someone else. The Tenth Doctor. He was slightly younger, with short brown hair. But he was still the Time Lord you knew, with those sparkling dark eyes and that cheeky grin.

"Hello." He said, before cutting himself off and mumbling to himself. "Okay. Ooh, new teeth. That's weird. So, where was I?" He looked at you with a smile. "Oh, that's right. Barcelona."

His accent was no longer Northern. This regeneration sounded like he was from South London. It was very pleasant, though.
