Tears welled up in your eyes as you try to blink them away, or trying to wipe them with your hand quick so that she wouldn’t notice you trying not to start crying.

She almost never got mad at you, but she just couldn’t help it tonight. You bit your lip between your teeth, leaving faint teeth marks, your hands in your lap, fingers fiddling with each other as you tried to stay composed.

You only staying silent made her more mad. Her hair was still up in its ponytail for work, heck, she was even still in her uniform. She closed her eyes, let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose, leaning to the side.

“I was just really busy!” You retort with hot tears rolling down your cheeks. I had to clean, then I had to run errands-“

“That still isn’t an excuse to have not eaten!” She finally snapped at you. “You could have gotten something while you were out!?” She said, pausing after. She hadn’t realized how loud she was being, not until she registered your teary eyes.

Her lips parted, as if she was taking aback herself that she snapped at you, and she was, you could tell. But that didn’t help the tears and or how they fell until you were full on crying in front of her.

Your hands covered your face, head low, your your shoulders bobbing up and down with each and every sob and sniffle. She stayed silent for a moment, her face softening. She hesitated for a second before taking a few steps to stand in front of you, carefully kneeling down so she was in front of you, face to face.

“Baby..” She whispered, only to get shadowed by your louder sobs. Her voice was soft, way softer than how it was from earlier yelling. She carefully reaches her own hands out to grab onto your own, her touch gentle. She didn’t move your hands away from your face, waiting for you to do it on your own, but she kept her hands holding yours.

It took a second, but you calmed down somewhat, enough that you could actually look at her. You let your hands fall, looking at her with your eyes, red from your crying. She frowned.

“I’m sorry.” She apologized, and you knew that sincerely, she was. She leaned forward, pressing the softest kiss to your cheek, as if kissing away your tears. “I just get worried about you..” She started, moving so she was making eye contact with you.

“But that doesn’t excuse my yelling.” She added, and you couldn’t help but just fall into her arms, your arms wrapping around her neck, face on her chest, your sobs picking up again.
