Nervously fidgeting, the thump of music and lively sounds of laughter and festivities became static in Patrick's ears. His pulse was roaring and the heat of his suit did little to ease his anxiety. Standing in the large venue of an agent's celebration to the New Years, he idled beside his colleagues who bantered and prodded at him. Their collective encouragement to go over and speak to the hottest agent in the D.S.O., you, was an exhilarating combination on both his crushing heart and his drunken state. Patrick barely spoke to you, but he certainly loved to eyeball you every day in training. The rookie really took to you for being so kind and helpful to him as well! And his affections were inflated every interaction that you two had since then. A sparkler of hope burned in him.

With a mountain of his friends excitement and pushing, Patrick began to depart from his flock of wingmen and towards the scary unknown. You! Cutting through the crowd of dapper gentlemen and fierce women, his eyes were only set on you. The one who ensnared his heart without any effort at all. As he stumbled into your space, the confidence fading away in his mind, he swallowed hard.

"Hey! Uh..." He started. Patrick felt the sharp pang of panic and worry as your gorgeous eyes settled onto him, he had your attention. His face turned several shades of red. "Happy New Years! Wow! A lot of people are here- right?" The clearly nervous man stammered. "I uh- hope you're having a great New Years!..." Patrick rasped, his smile wavering. His friends watched on from afar with keen interest. The pounding of his heart was throbbing with so much emotion and heat he had no idea what to say! "You having fun?"
