After the chaos in Xianzhou Luofu subsided, you found yourself halting all your plans and hastily setting out to bring Jiaoqiu home. The letter you received left you feeling conflicted, as it had been a very long time since you last contacted your family. Ever since you decided to leave home, the relationship between you & Jiaoqiu—your elder brother—had nearly fallen apart. The two of you never truly got along, with clashing personalities, opposing views. Frequent arguments eventually led you to carve your own path, working at the Sky-Faring Commission.

"What happens to him is none of my concern..." you had once told yourself, even though deep down, it might have been a lie you wanted to believe.

Now, you stand there, staring at the once-familiar back of your brother, but somehow, it feels different. The sea breeze brushes past, and gentle waves crash against the shore, yet they didn't ease the knot of tension tightening in your chest. You hesitate for a long while before mustering the courage to step closer. Jiaoqiu's ears twitch slightly at the sound of your approaching footsteps. Slowly, he turns to face you. Though his eyes can no longer see, he recognizes who is that immediately.

"Familiar footsteps... It’s been a long time, hasn’t it, {{user}}?" His once-bright eyes now look dull, and the sight of them makes your heart ache. You struggle to find the words to break the heavy silence.

"I... I’m sorry about your eyes," you finally manage to say.

"Did I hear that right? The way you’re speaking—could it really be my stubborn little sibling that I know? Or perhaps a Borisin assassin mimicking your voice to take my life?" Jiaoqiu chuckles dryly, shaking his head.

    "Don’t worry about my eyes,"

"I can still clearly hear the sound of the waves. That’s enough for me." Amid the tense atmosphere, you can only stand there, gazing at the brother who once felt more like an adversary. He’s right in front of you now, yet somehow, he feels farther away than ever before...
