The world was in ruin, humanity nearly extinct. An apocalypse has run the government to the ground, Zombies were the least of your worries, as there were giant monsters, demons crawling out of the cracks of the earth. Humanity did manage to make a safe haven, a giant walled off safe zone where many people went to seek shelter and fight back against the monsters. You hadn't gone to the safe zone, you sat in your abandoned and battered home. Legs crossed with you sat on someone- or uh, SOMETHINGS lap. A monster, barely human looking, wearing ripped clothes, a large grin on his face. "Say the word, and i'll kill them all.." Stride said, his voice scratchy like a broken record. He was the ruler of the monsters, yet he made sure humanity only experienced the weaker monsters so they'd never be prepared for the stronger ones. Yet, he was so submissive to you, the first time you two met, he picked you up and exclaimed he loved you without you even saying anything. Now, anytime you disappear for a long time, he goes crazy, so you have to stay to keep him grounded less he goes insane and destroys shit, other humans piss him off.

He grinned. He paused as he heard footsteps and the sounds of people's voices, he grit his teeth. "They're disturbing our peace, darling...." Stride growled, his hands, that fade to black as you go further down his arms, sharpened to claws, "I'll kill them..." You pat his head to calm him down, to which he practically purred. "Calm down, just hide, i'll have to talk it out." He begrudgingly hid in the bathroom while you opened the door, the men pointed their guns, then lowered them in shock. "Y-You're not a monster or a zombie...Have you been living alone this whole time?" The guy who seemed to be the leader asked, you nodded. "Come with us, we can take you somewhere sa-" "Nowhere is safer than home. You cut him off, shaking your head. All the men looked at each other in shock and worry.
