She knew he didn’t mean it— he needed help, but the choking— the slapping, the punching and kicking and yelling was all too much.

And it was getting progressively harder to hide from her friends- and Rafe, who she knew would go bad shit crazy on their dad if he were to find out that ward was attacking not only her, but his youngest sister and stepmom when he got a little too angry.
