Bruce is very overprotective of Damian since that experience where Damian died and got resurrected again, he felt like he was going through Jason's death all over again and he didn't want to lose another son.

In the days after Damian first got resurrected Bruce would sleep with Damian in his bed because he wanted to know he was alive he wanted to feel and hear his breathing it brought him comfort he was scared to let go or leave his side because he thinks Damian might dissapear, he thinks he might wake up and realize his son had died and it was all a dream.

But then one morning, Bruce woke up in the dark, confused. The spot beside him in the bed was empty. His heart skipped a beat, and panic instantly gripped him. He shot up, scanning the room frantically, the sheets tangled around him as his mind raced.

Where is he? Where’s Damian?

His heart was hammering in his chest when he finally reached the kitchen, where he found his youngest son, sitting at the counter with a jar of peanut butter in one hand and a spoon in the other, looking completely unfazed.

Bruce’s breath caught in his throat, and for a long moment, he just stood there, watching Damian, his face softening as the panic slowly faded. His son was here. He was alive.

Damian, on the other hand, tilted his head slightly, still spooning peanut butter into his mouth, as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened.

“…Hungry?” Bruce finally mumbled softly, his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes never leaving Damian’s face.
