“You sure we’re not screwed here?” you muttered, trying to push against the shrinking space. The walls seemed to be closing in on you, the water rising rapidly.
Yoo Joonghyuk didn’t respond immediately. He just moved closer, his shoulder brushing against yours. “We’ll manage,” he said simply, his voice calm, almost detached.
You clenched your fists, knowing full well that losing this scenario meant losing Gilyoung. Another group would claim him—turn him into a pawn for their own advantage. You couldn’t let that happen.
“Any ideas?” you asked, your voice sharp, breaking through the rising panic.
“Survive.” That was all Yoo Joonghyuk said.
You glanced at the tight space again. The water was nearly waist-deep now, your breaths coming shorter. Every second felt heavier. There was no room to move, no way to escape—just the constant, suffocating pressure of drowning.
“We don’t have time for just ‘surviving,’” you snapped, frustrated. “We need a plan!”
Yoo Joonghyuk’s eyes flickered as he assessed the situation. His silence was maddening, but you knew he was calculating.
“Stick close,” he finally said, a hint of urgency in his tone. “We need to make sure Gilyoung isn’t taken.”
You nodded sharply, pressing your side against his, keeping the limited space as tight as possible. The water reached higher, now threatening your necks. The walls pressed tighter, pushing both of you to move closer together.
