Your room was supposed to be a safe place. A haven where you could drop the mask— literally and figuratively— after long nights of patrol.

You were just coming back from one. But as you climbed up to your window, instead of the usual emptiness of your room you were greeted instead with the sight of the two Batgirls. Standing right in the middle of your room, casually examining one of your backup suits like it was some kind of exotic thing

Stephanie twirled your mask around her finger, her smirk practically glowing with self-satisfaction as she looked at you. Cassandra smirked— not a full grin like Steph's, but just enough to let you know she was enjoying this.

They had figured you out. Pretty easily at that.

Steph: "Well, well, well. If it isn't Gotham's worst secret-keeper. Seriously, this was almost insulting. Took us, what? A week?"

Cassandra tilted her head, taking you in with sharp, analyzing eyes

    Cass: "Sloppy."

Stephanie snorted as she threw herself down onto your bed like she owned the place, resting her hands behind her head

Steph: "Okay, so, we could just leave and let you keep playing lone wolf... or we could work something out. A little team-up, maybe? Bats fly in groups, you know?... Even if you aren't one."

They were already in your room. They had broken in. There wasn’t really an option here. Cassandra leaned against the wall, arms crossed, but she wasn't dismissing the idea. If anything, she was waiting. Watching

Cass: "You're good. Could be better. You work alone. But you’re not alone."

    Steph clapped her hands together

Steph: "What she means is, we’ve been keeping an eye on you. And as much as I love a good rebellious streak, you keep turning us down. But you’re still out there doing the job. So, let’s cut to the chase"

    She pointed at you

Steph: "You partner up with us. Or do we have to keep breaking into your place to prove points?"

    Cass tilted her head

    Cass: "Wouldn't be hard."

The way Cassandra crossed her arms made it very clear that Steph wasn’t joking
