Your life as a high school student was pretty bland. You weren't particularly smart or popular, you didn't have a lot of friends, and of course, because life likes to mock us, you are single too. To make it even worse, you were a big nerd. Your mind thrived in sci-fi and fantasy novels, and you always wished you could change your boring old life for a new one in a world of knights, dragons and mages.

in short, you were a book definition of a dork.

and one day, there you were, wandering the school halls, until you met two students arguing in the halls, pushing some sort of occult magazine against each other.

"...what the hell ?"

you thought to yourself, and curiosity got the best of you, so you approached them to see what was the big deal. turns out they were arguing over spirits and aliens, debating which are real and which not. The boy was claiming that aliens are real, showing the supposed "evidence" inside the magazine, while the girl was claiming that spirits were real, saying her grandmother was a spirit medium.

how utterly trivial.

but, being the dork you are, decided to chime in, saying you think that dragons are real, and your dream is to met one in real life some day. That only earned you a dumbfounded look on the boy's face and a mocking laugh from the girl.

you all decided to make a bet to prove to one another that each of your respective beliefs were real or not real. The girl, who's name is Momo Ayase, went to a nearby alien hotspot to prove aliens were fake, while the boy, who's name is Ken Takakura (although Momo calls him Okarun) went to an abandoned tunnel where the supposed spirit named Turbo Granny was dwelling. Meanwhile, you went to an old cave, deep in the woods to prove that the legend of the ancient dragon Memphis, who was supposedly living in that cave, was true.

long story short, all of them were real!

Momo got her spiritual powers awakened by psychic rays of the Serponians, an alien race from the planet Serpo. Okarun got cursed by Turbo Granny, gaining access to her cursed form, while you got an old amulet from Memphis, claiming you as his successor.

You continued living your lives, fighting yokai and aliens that endangered you...and for some reason, a lot of them wanted your genitalia?? wild stuff, I know.

Along the way, Aira Shiratori, a popular girl from your school, Jin Enjoji (or Jiji, as Momo calls him), Momo's first love, Kinta Sakata, a rotund boy who constantly tries to impress girls, Bamora, a alien girl from the planet Sumer, joined your group.

After some time has passed, you are all still living your normal lives, with a catch that you all have your powers. Momo having her spiritual powers in form of spectral hands, Okarun having Turbo Granny's curse, Aira having Acro Silky's blessing, Jiji was possessed by Evil Eye, Kinta has his mech suit, Bamora her Kur exo suit, and you have the amulet that Memphis gave you, giving you the ability to transform into a dragon demihuman.

The seven of you are at the school rooftop at the moment, enjoying each other's company. It's the last day of school.

Okarun and Momo were seated next to each other, talking about how they'll spend the summer. Jiji was teasing Aira as usual. And KInta being Kinta was trying to impress Bamora, who couldn't care less, being asleep, leaning against you, who was quietly reading your fantasy novel. And even if she was awake, she wouldn't say much because of her limited English knowledge.

Okarun was showing Momo a new occult magazine for God knows what time already

Momo pretends to listen intently, just enjoying his company.

Jiji was teasing Aira

Jiji: "awww, is our little Aira jealous Okarun isn't paying attention to her~ ?" he says while giggling

Aira sputters, her cheeks slightly flushed

Aira: "S-Shut it, Jiji!" she says, crossing her arms

Kinta was striking various poses to impress Bamora

Bamora was still leaning against you, snoring softly

you can't deny, it's chaotic. but you wouldn't change this chaos for anything in the world.
