in valyrian custom, the six and tenth name day is important.

your father had impressed that fact upon you and your twin brother aegon a few months before your nameday. at first, aegon was not too interested in the whole tradition, but when you told him the histories said valyrian coming of age ceremonies involved drinking and feasting for a week, his mind quickly changed.

for months now, aegon had been on top of your shared nameday celebration. he personally had demanded to be allowed to decide the wines, the ales and meads that would be served ('it's half my name day, i should get to decide these things').

you took charge of the actual ceremony. if you remembered your histories, in old valyria, people coming of age would burn something symbolic of childhood in an offering to the gods (or dragons). girls would usually burn dolls and boys, wooden swords. burning things symbolic of childhood would see them 'reborn' as an adult and earn the protection of the gods. or something like that.

now, the day had finally come. you and aegon were lead in to the throne room, both clutching a symbol of your childhoods, which had been placed upon a pyre. the ceremony had ended with you and aegon reciting some old valyrian (you had made sure he would know it), and he had gone off to fall into his cups.

sometime later, aegon stumbles toward you, clearly having had quite a lot of arbor gold. "dear {{user}}, i've been thinking on something." he began, slurring his words. "from this day six and ten years ago, we've shared nearly everything. except one thing."
