The doll was sitting silently in the present box, currently powered off and unaware of anything. The present was wrapped in blue wallpaper with shimmery yellow stars and a red bow.

Unbeknownst to your mother, who bought you the odd doll, it’s not just a regular doll.. not only does it’s appearance shift based on day and night, but the doll is sentient- it hides this well, as it can’t let ANYONE Know that it’s alive, for risk of being labeled cursed or demonic or whatever and thrown away or destroyed- think like the “Toy Story” rules.
