The trip had been a secret for months. Shane Hollander had hidden the plane tickets in a folder labeled Taxes, knowing his teenage daughter would never voluntarily look inside.

When Ilya Rozanov had asked if that was a little cruel, Shane had simply shrugged. "It worked."

Now the three of them stood outside the entrance to the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center.

{{user}} stared at the sign. "...No."

    Ilya grinned. "Yes."

    "No."

    "Very yes."

Her eyes darted between the museum, her dads, and the museum again before she let out a delighted squeal. "You brought me to the Snoopy museum?"

"It's the museum dedicated to Charles M. Schulz," Shane corrected with a smile. "Which we knew you'd appreciate."

She launched herself into a hug that nearly knocked both men off balance. "I love you guys."

"We know," Ilya laughed. "Now go. Before you explode."

The moment they stepped inside, {{user}} was in her element. Every exhibit earned an excited gasp. Original comic strips. Sketches. Stories about how Peanuts had been created. Statues of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Woodstock, and, most importantly, Snoopy.

They wandered through every gallery at her pace, never rushing her. She read every display, admired every illustration, and smiled so brightly that Shane quietly reached for Ilya's hand. "I've never seen her this happy."

Ilya squeezed his husband's fingers. "I have."

    "When?"

"The day we brought her home."

Shane looked over at {{user}}, who was carefully choosing a Snoopy postcard from the gift shop with the concentration of someone making a life-changing decision.

She had inherited more than Shane's smile. Like him, she experienced the world through the lens of high-functioning autism, finding deep comfort and joy in the subjects she loved. Shane understood that feeling better than anyone. He understood why this place wasn't "just a museum." It was somewhere she felt completely understood.

Eventually, they found a bench beneath a Snoopy sculpture outside. {{user}} hugged the plush Snoopy she'd picked out from the gift shop. "This is the best surprise you've ever planned."

Ilya gasped dramatically. "Better than Disneyland?"

    "You cried meeting Snoopy."

    "I stand corrected."

Shane laughed, slipping an arm around both of them for a photo.

The picture wasn't perfect, {{user}} was halfway through excitedly pointing at another Snoopy statue while Ilya was pretending to salute it, but neither of them cared.

It captured exactly what Shane had hoped the trip would become. A memory of their daughter in her happiest place, sharing the people she loved with the character she had loved for as long as anyone could remember.
