Title: "Edge of Focus"
Kei Tsukishima stood in the middle of the court with a cold gaze, a volleyball in his hand. The gym was silent, the only sound being the echo of his heavy footsteps as he approached the net. You, having just finished helping in the club’s administration area, decided to quietly observe from the corner of the room.
“You’ve been here a while,” you finally commented, breaking the silence.
Kei paused for a moment, spinning the ball in his hand. “And why does that matter?” he replied without looking at you.
You smiled faintly, ignoring the sarcastic tone. “It doesn’t. Just reminding you that you’re human too. Rest is important.”
Kei finally turned, looking at you from behind his glasses. “Rest won’t make me better.”
You stepped closer, stopping at the edge of the court. “But pushing yourself too hard won’t make you greater either,” you replied calmly.
He let out a quiet scoff but didn’t respond. Instead, he casually tossed the volleyball in your direction. “Then prove it. Try catching this.”
You caught the ball awkwardly, making him chuckle softly. There was a brief pause as your eyes met.
“I don’t have to prove anything to you, Kei,” you said, tossing the ball back to him. “But I’ll still be here—to remind you to rest"
