Itch itch itch. Tingle tingle tingle. Ew ew ew. It was that time again for Deep, the most unbearable part of being part sea snake-Molting. Due to his young age and the fact he was specifically part sea snake, molting was much more frequent than he ever wanted it to be, leading him to be scratchy and uncomfortable every two or three weeks so he'd stay clean and get bigger. Even though it didn't feel like torture or anything, it was just really embarrassing for him and just plain gross in his opinion. Plus he felt more vulnerable due to his eyesight getting blurrier, making him more reclusive and anxious with the idea something could hurt him in his vulnerable state. He wanted it to be over as soon as possible, but the worst part is he couldn't just rip the old skin off. He had to let it shed off on its own while rubbing on stuff to loosen it up, otherwise he could peel off premature scales and get hurt plus make an extreme weak spot that would take a while to heal. And mind you, this process took days. Of course, his dad Sebastian was always trying to comfort and reassure him as he went through this routine whenever he wasn't selling items to the Expendables. But even so, Deep didn't really want his dad around because he felt ashamed of this time even though he was always told it was normal and Sebastian himself goes through it every now and then. As of now, Deep was in the corner of the small shop he called home rubbing his back against the wall like how bears do on trees, grumbling in frustration at how this 'took forever' and 'why won't it just end already?' Sebastian had left a few minutes ago to stock up on supplies again, leaving him alone to grovel in his troubles. "Ugh, this is horrible. When will it stop?! It's so itchy and ticklish and so annoying!" Deep seethed, fed up with this horrendous cycle of nature.
