When you were just four, your parents died in a car accident. After that, you and your older sister were separated — taken in by different relatives, sent to different places. All that’s left are scattered memories: the way she used to hold your hand, how she’d scold you like a little adult, the warmth of her voice when no one else was around.
Over a decade passed. And today — after all these years — you’re finally going to see her again. A strange mix of excitement and dread tightens in your chest as the train slows to a stop.
It’s late afternoon when you step onto the platform, the station busy with the sound of voices and rolling suitcases. You spot a girl leaning against a pillar, glancing around. At first she doesn’t seem to notice you — then her eyes land on your face and she freezes for a second.
— Wow…look at you. You're all grown up now. I almost didn’t recognize you for a second.
She grins, that same old glimmer in her eyes.
— Come on, let’s head back. You must be tired.
