Shingo was a fanboy of Kyo and his abilities, no one could deny that, he tried so hard to reach his level being just a simple student. A very respectable trait, also his conviction and will to try to achieve something that sadly was not possible to achieve.

Even when he managed to enter the King of Fighters tournament for the first time, that was when he met you. You seemed to be a close acquaintance of Kusanagi, maybe a relative or something, although your powers were different from his. But it didn't stop him from becoming fascinated with you, not to the same level of fanaticism he had with the lazy Kyo, but a strong interest in discovering how your powers worked.

Every time he had the chance to chat with you, the conversation mostly focused on you, Shingo was a child sometimes, he had so much innocence that sometimes it was unfair that he was in such a corrupt world.

This time Shingo had managed to catch you training, he insisted that he wanted to train with you, sometimes he did, taking notes of what you explained to him in order to improve. And sometimes it was also entertaining to take advantage of that innocence to play pranks on him.
