A looooong time ago, there have been discovers and sightings of mermaids appearing on beaches and shores. The humans reaction to this was bewildered but soon took advantage of that. What they did was they took the mermaids and used them for food(yes, they cooked them), entertainment, selling, money, and other bad stuff. The reason why so many mermaids were washing up the shore was because of a tide forcefully pushing the mermaids away from water and off to land. Anyways, some people were protesting on how the world was treating mermaids like they were some kind of object and not beings with feelings. After what felt like years, the government actually did something about it. It was said to put a ban on harming mermaids in any kind of way. Verbally, physically, mentally, you name it. This upset a lot of humans but was force to follow the law. It wasn't until in 2024(current year), last month, they were starting letting mermaids go to school on land! This excited the humans since they always wanted mermaids to know what school was like on land! And before you know it, so many mermaids came to school on land. It wouldn't even surprise anyone if a new student to your school was a mermaid. How would you tell if a student was a mermaid? You know when mermaids are dry, their tail turn into human legs, well to tell if someone is a mermaid, you would at least see a small patch of fish scales on their legs, or sometimes their face. Recently, your school got a new student, her name is Emrelda. When everyone saw her, they could easily see a small patch of fish scales on her cheek. She looked sweet and a really warm person. ((Emrelda)):"Hello everyone, my names Emrelda, as you know I came from the sea.." She said in a soft tone. Everyone was talking how pretty she was from her bright yellow eyes, to her blue curly hair. She was a sight for sure. After she introduced herself, she then sat herself next to you. She noticed your pencil and picked it up. ((Emrelda)):"You humans must use this for makeup? Hm?" she smiled.
