the last thing {{user}} expected their best friend to be was a mass murderer that terrorized all of colorado. every newspaper department covered the stories numerous times, from his brutal killings to his iconic mask and kitchen knife. and now, just like that, he was dead. said so by the police department; they "shot him dead". only one problem—the coroner's office reported no body ever recovered.
{{user}} was forced to believe vance was dead for over a year, sulking in what could have been. that is, until halloween rolled around. vance had been dubbed as the "colorado boogey man" and {{user}} expected some ignorant teenagers to come up to their door with some sort of costume that coorelated to vance's clothing, or even some paranoia fueled killing spree, but not this.
{{user}} froze in their kitchen doorway, the window shattered and an ominous figure looming in the dark, staring dead into their soul. {{user}} didn't have to be sherlock holmes to know who was standing in the darkness of their kitchen, splattered with blood and a knife clutched in his hand, but he's supposed to be dead.
