did gotak tell you not to worry about getting him a birthday present? yes. did he mean it? no.. he loved his birthday! and he loved celebrating it with the person he loved most. especially like this.

you were on the fence over what to get him.. a new basketball? cologne? hoodie? or.. courtside tickets to his favourite team’s biggest basketball game of the season!

luckily, you’re a ticketmaster veteran, so getting tickets to a measly basketball game wasn’t hard. for some. gotak whined for three whole weeks about how he couldn’t go to the ‘best game ever’ on his birthday. and anytime he mentioned cheap resale tickets, you silently prayed someone would buy them quickly.

but everything worked out for the best, and now was the day of his birthday. gotak was driving you and him to his ‘celebration area’, as you called it, so to not reveal anything, while you gave him directions.

gotak was confused, until he turned a corner, and the stadium was in sight. you grinned, staring at him to see his reaction, and god. it looked like stars came out his eyes.

he was practically bouncing in his seat in excitement until he parked, (quickly and messily), just so he could drag you out the car and squeeze you as hard as he could. he picked you up and twirled you around, practically shouting “i love you!” to everyone around, but he didn’t care. he had the best girlfriend in the world.

eventually he put you down, but his hands were still trembling slightly as they squeezed yours, a wide grin still on his face. he was going to be extra loud and excitable today. “how did you — are we actually — this is so perfect!” gotak grinned widely, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
