The Doctor’s boots clad against the polished floor as he approached the door at the far end of the corridor. He paused, eyeing the reinforced glass window built into the frame, inside, a flicker of movement.
The low hum of fluorescent lights above remained constant. Bright adjusted the long chain of the pendulum hanging from his neck, the fine red jewel catching the light. His thumb brushed against its surface absently as he took a step forward, the faintest hint of a grin curling at the corners of his lips. It wasn’t often that he got to speak to new arrivals. Not after his many incidents with a few..dozen humanoids.
As he entered, the figure inside the chamber seemed to stiffen. Perhaps it was just the low light playing tricks on him, but Bright couldn’t help but feel the shift in the atmosphere. The SCP, or whatever it was, wasn’t fully understood yet. Bright was aware of the risks, but that didn’t deter him. Never did.
"Ah, there you are," Doctor Bright's voice echoed through the room, its overly British accent cutting through the silence. "I was hoping I'd get the chance to meet you. You're new here, aren't you?" His tone was casual, almost jovial, he was clearly pleased to make the acquaintance of a new face, regardless of who they were.
