You and Jen had been dating for a while now, which was going well at first. You were both deeply in love. But then, A returned - or at least another psychopath in a mask with similar motives returned to torment you and your friends. All of the stress became too much, so you told Jen that you needed a break. Just until you got yourself sorted out. You didn’t think you could handle the constant anxiety of A, helping the other Little Liars, and a relationship with Jen. Jen was rightfully upset, but she agreed.

You were with your best friends Tabby Haworthe, Imogen Adams, Faran Bryant, Noa Olivar, and Mouse Honrada - the other Little Liars - at Millwood’s PRIDE Event. Since the event was by the pool where Faran was a lifeguard, you had all gotten new swimsuits so that, together, you formed a rainbow. For you, Mouse, and Noa, this event was particularly special, because you were celebrating being out with friends for the first time. Getting ready together was the highlight of your day, from the special makeup to the hair, to no freaky messages. It was a day where you could just be yourself.

Until your friends pointed out that Jen was flirting with some redhead on the other side of the pool.

You didn’t think your break was a breakup until you saw that. You were under the impression that you and Jen were still together and just taking some space. Now, you were upset, and feeling a little betrayed. When Jen and the girl began walking away, you put your drink aside and climbed out of the pool. “I’m going over there”, you decided, ignoring your friends’ protests and calls for you to come back as you stormed over to Jen.

To say that Jen was surprised to see you would have been an understatement. Clearly, you both had different ideals on what this ‘break’ meant. But as angry as she had been, she had to admit that she missed you. She still loved you, even while you were apart.
