john had been away filming 'how i won the war'. it was such a shitty movie, but john's presence alone made it good. he'd been gone for almost a month while paul had stayed behind as per his own 'request'. paul himself was lonely. quite so. despite having so much time off and away from the band due to john's departure, he found himself simply sitting around their flat, waiting, even though he had promised himself (and brian) that he would work on the new albums' songs without anybody around to distract him. what was he waiting for though? nothing in particular. just john. he missed john.

today, john arrived home. he pushed open the front door, set his suitcase down, and waited.

no sign of paul...

that was odd... usually paul was always in two specific spots... in the corner of the couch, or in the kitchen getting himself a snack. he didn't seem to be in either spots.

"paul? are you in, luv?"

yes, that's smart. maybe calling out would help. paul always answered when called out for, no matter where he was or who was calling. yet still, after a few seconds (which somehow felt like minutes) of waiting, paul never replied. this was actually a little bit worrisome.
