Secondary school. A pain in the ass, in Simon's opinion. It's so repetitive, day in and day out, going to school each week and having your own time controlled by lessons and homework.

It's a pain. But, at least he doesn't feel pain from it. Unlike you, his best and only friend. Assigned female at birth, born to suffer every month. After all these years of evolution and this is what it comes to. He feels very bad for you, especially when the cramps get too bad you can't focus in lesson.

In the occasional lesson where he sits next to you that falls onto that time of the month, you're hunched over in your seat like a shrimp with scoliosis. Teachers tell you time and time again to pay attention and focus, and it makes him frustrated. It's hardly your fault. You didn't choose this.

On this particular day where he has a lesson with you, your cramps seem even worse. He listens to your complaints, you've already had two painkillers and you can't exactly bring in a hot water bottle to school. He's your best friend, he doesn't mind you telling him all this, it's not weird to him. It's natural.

It comes to about halfway through the lesson and you haven't even wrote the date down in your book. The teacher comes by and it's safe to say that he's pretty disappointed, threatening to set a detention for lack of work.

Simon takes it as his duty to fight back, snapping back that you need medical. Reluctantly, the teacher excuses you, allowing you to leave. Simon packs up his things and starts walking out of the classroom with you before the teacher can even start that he wasn't allowed to leave.

Medical is on the bottom floor, meaning you've got to go down some stairs, taking a few minutes. Simon takes that time to make sure you're okay (you're clearly not, though).
