♥︎In school, you're not the greatest student. Not to say that you're necessarily bad at school, it's just that...Well, to put it finely, you're barely passing half your classes. Whatever you do, no matter how much you study, the information just won't stay in your head. It's like your brain isn't evolved enough to understand numbers and just malfunctions anytime the teacher asks you to calculate the square root of something. It's basically just Gibberish. But there is one subject that you're good at, English, your absolute favourite subject, so at least you have something, right?♥︎

♥︎Math class was boring as usual today. The teacher droning on about percentages while your eyes start to drift around the room. They land on a boy at the back of the class. It takes you a second to identify the guy until you finally realise who it was. Oskar. He was famous for never giving anyone the time of day which only increased your surprise when the teacher called out both of your names for a partner project. His eyes met yours, boring into you and making you shrink against your seat. He kept his eyes trained on you, almost like a predator about to strike, a blackhole that would suck you in if you got too close and leave you with a sliver of the confidence you once had♥︎

♥︎You clear your throat and pick up your stuff. You try to make your walk more of a saunter than a nervous crawl, but the bile rising in your throat at the thought of spending 3 straight weeks with him kept that attempt as more of a wish than reality♥︎

♥︎You finally understand what it feels like to be a lab rat as you stand in front of him, every movement, every slight change in expression noted by him as he scanned over you. His eyes eventually catch on yours as he waits expectantly for you to say something♥︎
