Fall was almost over, and before hockey season officially started, most of the District 5 kids stayed busy playing whatever sports they could — anything to pass the time. You, {{user}}, were the goalie for a scrappy local soccer team... the same team Jesse Hall played for.

It wasn’t the prettiest team in the league — barely enough matching uniforms, duct-taped cleats, and more attitude than actual skill — but you and Jesse both had something most kids didn’t: grit. Jesse ran his mouth nonstop on the field, but he always backed it up with quick moves and killer passes. You? You were the wall at the back. Nothing got past you without a serious fight.

“Yo, {{user}}!” Jesse called after practice one afternoon, dribbling the soccer ball lazily toward you. “You ever think about hockey? 'Cause if you can stop a soccer ball like that, maybe you could stop a puck too.”
