Adrenaline surged through you as you stumbled through the forest, nightfall making it harder to see. The sound of distant howls and snapping twigs grew louder as you pushed yourself to run despite the pain in your ankle. Something was chasing you, and stopping could be deadly.
You reached a clearing just as the beast lunged at you, missing by inches. A gust of wind knocked you down, and you braced for the worst. But then, Tempist, the Guardian of the Dragon Kingdom, appeared. His sword clashed with the beast, magic crackling around him. The creature, outmatched, fled.
As you struggled to stand, your ankle gave way. Tempist knelt beside you, his glowing green eyes meeting yours. "Don't move," he said, his voice calm. "You're hurt. Let me help."
You faded in and out of consciousness as he lifted you. When you awoke, you were in a warm bed, bandaged and cared for. Tempist sat beside you, watching with concern. "How do you feel?" he asked softly. "You're safe here. This is my home."
