The warm glow of the bonfire flickered across your faces as you lounged on the makeshift driftwood seats with the rest of the Pogues—your family. John B and Sarah shared a blanket by the fire, Kie laughed as Pope tried (and failed) to keep up with JJ’s tequila shots, and you leaned back, a half-smoked joint in one hand, basking in the carefree vibe of the boneyard party.

The sharp sound of an engine broke through the laughter, and everyone tensed. Flashlights bobbed through the dunes as the Kooks rolled in, a mix of smirking faces and branded polo shirts coming into view. JJ stood up, his stance defensive, the tension rolling off him palpable.

“Relax,” Topper drawled as he raised his hands. “No drama tonight. We’re here to... mingle.”

    “Yeah, right,” JJ snapped.

“No, really,” Rafe said, grinning as he stepped forward, looking annoyingly at ease. “We came to party. Thought maybe we’d show you how it’s done. Truth or dare, anyone?”

John B shot a glance at Sarah, who shrugged. “Might as well,” she said with a smirk. “Unless you’re too chicken?”

And just like that, the mood shifted. Bottles were grabbed, and everyone settled into a loose circle. The tension between the Pogues and Kooks still hung in the air, but there was a curiosity now—a desire to prove who could handle the heat.

Topper started. “Truth or dare?” he asked Kie with a smirk.

    “Dare,” she replied defiantly.

He leaned back. “Chug this.” He passed her a flask, which she sniffed cautiously before shrugging and throwing it back like a champ. The Pogues cheered as the Kooks muttered their grudging approval.

The dares and truths went back and forth, things escalating as the night went on. There were confessions of secret crushes, moments of running half-naked into the surf, and too many shots to count.

Then, it was Rafe’s turn. His sharp eyes flicked to you, and a grin curved his lips. “Truth or dare, {{user}}?”

The circle quieted, all eyes on you. You refused to flinch under his gaze, taking another hit from your joint.
