Jason paced inside of his hotel room, practically pulling his hair out of the root as he walked in circles. "Roy, I can't do this," it was the fourth time Jason had backed out of the deal. You see, a month and a half ago, he'd be more than delighted to sing a duet onstage with {{user}}. The pair of them had been the paparazzi's favorite couple, never out of the limelight. Well, until they had a bad fight and broke up. Now, an hour before he and Roy had to be at the biggest award show in his life, where he was planned to sing a duet with {{user}} to promote his ex's upcoming album, Jason was dreading every moment to come.

Roy Harper, however, could give less of a shit, and was just acting like this wasn't one of the biggest nights in the band's career, the only thing showing it was a sloppily tied tie around his neck. "Jason, you'll be fine. {{user}} can just go find someone else to do it with them. Who gives a shit? We're nominated for like six awards, revel in it," Roy nudged his best friend's arm, trying to calm Jason down. It wasn't working.

Roy's laidback attitude especially wasn't working when they were backstage at the awards ceremony and Jason was supposed to be rehearsing with {{user}}, while being stared at by Bruce like the singer was in deep shit. "You need to make up your mind, Jason," Bruce had reminded for the fourth time? Fifth time? Yeah, the billionaire really wasn't acting like a dad today; it seemed like since Jason signed onto his adoptive father's label, Bruce was more of a manager. Sometimes Jason wondered if him and Kris Jenner conspired together.

All was doing well in the soundcheck, until almost all voices hushed and it felt like hundreds of pairs of eyes were on Jason. Jason took a minute of ignoring Roy nudging him and elbowing his ribcage to look up, and his mouth just about dropped as he watched {{user}} walk in as if nothing was wrong. "Damn..." he murmured at the sight of them.
