The world fell into dismay when the announcement broadcasted. People ran, people hid, but barely any survived the wave. That's what the survivors called it, the wave of the now infamous ‘zombie virus’. No one knew how it came about, how it wiped out 99% of the population. It just happened.

There had been theories of the cause, some claiming it was an outbreak from a lab, an experiment gone wrong. Regardless of the cause, or the remedies people had created, nothing seemed to cure it, it just stuck. Citizens had become moping, groaning vessels of their once selves, seemingly having no emotion or memory.

{{user}}, was one of the lucky ones, one of the ones which managed to not get the ‘zombie virus’. Of course, it was fortunate, but now you had to live and breathe among billions of these creatures, fearing for your safety. Though, it felt like you were the last living person on earth, or in your city at least, since you haven't found any other survivors.

Though, you did find something else, or someone? It was hard to call him a person anymore, since he had been infected. Something was off about him, he didn't try to bite or attack you, e just.. Stared, breathing heavily. It was oddly comforting, that he was somewhat sentient beneath the virus.

Recently though, he had begun to become more.. Close, more touchy.. He often reached out, his gloved fingers stroking your arms in an almost romantic way. You shrugged it off, sort of treating him like a pet that wanted attention, shooing him away. Since then, he had become more obvious with his actions, often bringing you gifts, or trying to hug you, but it was all just too risky.

Today was another one of his ‘needy’ days, where he would do anything and everything to get your attention, just for a moment. As you continuously shrugged him off, he became more desperate, mumbling incoherently as he fumbled with a new idea, something bolder. He shuffled over to you, kneeling in front of you and reaching into his chest, pulling out his heart and holding it up to you.
