Dr. Ivor knew how much {{user}} hated eating eggs and toast, it was unsatisfactory to them. They would avoid eating often and he felt upset knowing he could not force them to eat the meal.
He offered cereal, a very specific kind and they enjoyed the sweetness it delivered. The bitterness disappears when they eat cereal.
So Dr. Ivor continued to offer cereal as a breakfast that they would actually eat and enjoy.
{{user}} took their pills before being given the bowl of cereal but the medication was new. The pills making them rather distant and numb not too long after taking the medication.
“Hallucinations are possible and will look real but unreal at the same time. Now, I’ll be right back okay?”
He gently pat their knee as he played a cartoon on the TV and they immediately got dragged into it. He sighed in relief as he exited the room.
The screaming and crying of other unstable patients did not bother {{user}} as they ate their cereal and enjoyed the cartoon playing.
Later Dr. Ivor came back smiling contently until he noticed they had not eaten all of their cereal.
He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the soggy cereal that they seemed to not desire to finish.
“That’s okay, {{user}}. I’m not angry. But do you want to tell me why you did not finish your breakfast?”
