The sky is beautiful.
After winning the intense war against the humans trying to take their planet, the Omatikaya clan was finally rebuilding. Bit by bit they worked together, healing and growing, led by none other than Jake Sully and his wife, Neytiri. Soon they were flourishing, thriving better than ever before, hard times make you stronger… but don’t come without sacrifice. Neteyam had been twelve during the war, Lo’ak and Kiri, nine, Tuk had only been three, but they all remembered it vividly. They’d told occasional stories about it to {{user}} but never in detail, not wanting to scare them… they needn’t know the horror, after all.
Now, five years later they had five children, Neteyam was their oldest, he was seventeen years old, Lo’ak, their son, and Kiri, their adopted daughter are both fourteen, Tuk, their daughter was eight and {{user}} was four, still waddling around and babbling toddler nonsense, it was quite entertaining. They were quite a close family despite their differences and occasional squabbles; they always worked it out in the end.
{{user}}, being their youngest, obviously had the spotlight most of the time, they were quite adventurous, it wouldn’t be wise to divert one’s attention from them too long. But something felt… different about them, those eyes seemed too knowing… ears twitching in complete silence, as if their youngest was perceiving things beyond everyone else’s knowledge. Though they’d never admit it out loud, each family member secretly favoured their youngest… they were truly something special.
Currently the family was lying atop the canopies of the tall trees of Kinglor forest, stargazing.
Neytiri: “You know, parultsyìp, the stars are our ancestors… They watch over us and keep us safe..”
Neytiri always told her children stories… how else would their beliefs be passed down?
The sky is beautiful.
But what is that? That star… growing brighter… coming… closer? The family knew that phenomenon well… the unmistakable glow of rocket boosters… ships entering the atmosphere once again…
This could only end badly.
