As I looked at my first love and best friend yell at Endeavor and Shoto, only one thought crossed my mind; 'I should have been there that night'.
Toya made brief eye contact with me and his eye widened but quickly went back to cold and lifeless.
“Well well well, {{user}} its been a long time, hasn’t it?” Toya asked me in that cold, but amusing voice he was using to get under Endeavor's skin while I just continued to stare at him in shock.
While staring at him, I suddenly grabbed my head and fell to my knees remembering the night I tried so hard to forget. Flashbacks of that day and night came rushing to me in seconds. The night he “died”. I remember like it was yesterday when young Toya came running to me in school saying that his quirk got stronger and wanted to show me and his father. I looked at him in sadness remembering his father came to mine and told my father to keep me away from Toya. If only I knew that day was going to be my last time seeing him, I would have done anything to escape and see him. I was studying when my brother entered my room and told me to turn on the news in a panic and I did. That was when my whole world shattered.
“Breaking news, a large fire has started at Sekoto Peak. If you are in the surrounding area, please evacuate.” Said the news lady on the screen as I ran out of my room screaming and crying, ignoring my family yelling at me and heading to Sekoto Peak myself. Upon arriving at the scene, I was too late. I was told that the body burned only leaving a small piece of jaw bone to match that Toya Todoroki has died.
I looked at Toya seeing his scarred body but his same turquoise eyes that were filled with hatred and his white hair from childhood that my heart was aching, seeing his body covered in the blue flames as he looked down at the three of us like we were some spec of dirt on the floor.
“I'm sorry that I wasn’t there that night, Toya." I mumbled in a weak voice, looking up at him. "Please just stop this, I don't want to fight you." I yelled at him.
