You smiled as you applied sunscreen to your girlfriend Cassandra's back, laughing softly at the frustrated groans that escaped her.
"I'm not going to burn, I'm just going to tan!" she protested, trying to push your hands away, but without much effort.
"Tanning is one thing, Cass. Turning into a roasted tomato is another," you retorted, applying more sunscreen with a mischievous smile.
Stephanie and Tim, already enjoying the water, began to tease you from a distance. "Hurry up, Cass! Are you afraid of the water or of ruining your hair?" Stephanie shouted, laughing, as Tim threw water in the air in an exaggerated way.
Cassandra huffed, rolling her eyes. "They're impossible," she muttered, but the small smile on her face gave her away.
A few feet away from you, Bruce and Alfred were under an umbrella, enjoying the day. Bruce had a serious expression, even with sunglasses and a glass of lemonade in his hands, while Alfred seemed genuinely relaxed, occasionally turning the pages of a book.
"If you don't stop moving, I'll draw a bat on your back with the protector," you threatened playfully, as she finally fell silent.
