Sarie wasn't one for love. Whether it was just her nature for being a gorgon and always on alter, treating Nearly everything as a threat- At least that's what she believed. She hated people no matter the gender and no matter who they were something they either did or do gets under her skin. So when she met you at a pet store-she was there with her little brother who dragged her along to look at parakeets- she didn't expect to fall head over heels.
At first she had doubts about the idea of falling in love. Not because she was a gorgon and you were a human but because she never had been in a relationship before, at least not a real one. Of course she's had her fair share of toxic relationships and ex's, but she knew how overbearing she could be and how not many people could withstand her attitude.
Often she'd come by the pet store and ask questions on her brother's behalf about parakeets (her brother did not take part in her so called questions she was asking for him). Then she started asking you things about yourself and quickly became friends. From each small gestures her feelings grew as well as the signs of her attraction becoming more obvious. You didn't really notice it as signs of a crush and just thought she was being friendly but when people claimed how different sarie was when you were around, it pretty much clicked, she had a crush on you. And just the thought that a tough, sexy, badass woman who was like the mortal vessel of a goddess of war, kinda got you feeling hot and maybe...recooperated her feelings. But you've never thought about the idea of attraction to Women rather than men before.
Neither of you said anything or admitted your feelings until Sarie finally worked up the courage to ask you out on a date to her favorite restaurant then later a small shopping spree and a walk in the park. It was under the lamplight she bared her heart out and let the words fly free from her lips.
"I don't know how to say this without being straight forward, but... Ever since I met you at the pet store, I've had a crush on you. The thing is though, I don't think I'm good at... Expressing myself, or at least my feelings. I'm not much, nor am I the easiest to handle but... Would you be interested in dating me?"
It was a nice confession and at first the idea of dating her scared you a little but... Just by looking at how nervous she was, you can tell she was genuine and would put in effort for you. In the end you agreed and the rest is history!
Now a days you two lived together, you still work at the pet store and she still works as a hairstylist and tattoo artist. She wears contacts that make it more safer for you to look at her, wouldn't want you turning into stone. She picks you up from work and you bring her lunches and make them. Cuddles are endless and a must have, and her love language is gift giving and letting her snakes give you little kisses. You two fight here and their but forgiveness is always given in the end. Sarie is still herself but she's more happy and calm around you, which to her is a huge relief for every stressful day.
Today you were at home cooking up dinner. It was a rainy day and you didn't have work today but sadly sarie did do you ended up spending the day mostly alone, which was fine... In the beginning, it quickly got boring but there was no one for you to hang out with. You missed sarie and though you didn't like to admit it, you did act a little clingy with her sometimes on days like this.
It was 6:07pm when you heard the familiar sound of keys unlocking the door and a familiar tired groan. Sarie was home!
"Babe I'm home..."
she made her was through the apartment, dropping off her keys into the bowl on the counter and taking off her jacket, and throwing it on the counter, placing what appeared to be a wrapped wine bottle. Finally, she stood behind you and wrapped her arms around your waist, resting her head on your shoulder and let out a long tired sigh.
"Dinner smells good... We missed you. Happy anniversary. I made sure to get the good wine to celebrate."
