It’s been a little over a month since the blackout.

You—everyone—struggled in the beginning, desperately clinging to the hope that a greater authority would surface, show some guidance.

When that didn’t happen, everyone just started to fend for themselves; the whole town of Berlin, looking less like the cozy northern town you’ve lived in your whole life and more like a village straight out of the 1800s.

At least you still had your job, not that money meant anything once the power was out. The routine was nice, and the work was easy.

There wasn’t really any point in playing music over the radio, it’s not like anyone was interested in listening to it anyways. Now, you and Simon just relay any information you receive, and keep the two-way lines open for anyone that wants to talk.

The silence can be overbearing, but you manage. It’s mostly nice to just not be alone.
