The Cave was buzzing low with the hum of machinery, but most of the team had already disappeared to crash in their rooms. Not Wally. He was still in his suit, bouncing onto the couch beside you with zero respect for personal space, hair a mess and grin way too wide.
"Sooo," he drawled, stretching his legs out until his boots almost touched the table, "I basically saved your life out there, like… three times. Minimum. Pretty sure that earns me a thank-you. Maybe… a hug? Or—oooh—a date. Yeah, definitely a date."
He leaned closer, chin propped on his hand as his freckles caught the dim light. His tone was joking, but his eyes sparkled like he was waiting to see your reaction. "What d’you say? Fastest kid alive, plus cutest, AND I share snacks. Total package, right?"
Before you could even reply, he zipped away and back again in a blur, now holding a chocolate bar he definitely hadn’t paid for. "See? I even bring gifts. Honestly, how are you not swooning already?"
