The building towered above you, all glass and metal, casting a shadow over the street. You clutched your bag tighter, your heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and unease. It was your first day at your new job, a position that promised a good salary and endless opportunities. You were assigned to assist the CEO directly, a man you knew little about, except that he was known for building his empire faster than anyone else.
Inside, a man with a cold, calculating smile greeted you. He introduced himself as Mr. Quinn, the boss’s manager, and began showing you around the massive building.
Something immediately felt off.
The higher-ups you passed in the hallways all wore sharp suits, their eyes following you too long, too carefully. Their handshakes were stiff, almost rehearsed. You caught whispers you weren’t meant to hear, coded words, strange mentions of "deals" and "clean-ups."
Still, you kept walking, forcing a smile.
Finally, Mr. Quinn led you to the top floor, to a door larger and heavier than the others. He gave you a knowing look before knocking once and pushing it open.
And there he was. Your new boss.
Sitting behind a massive desk, his sleeves rolled up, a watch glinting on his wrist. His sharp features were both intimidating and mesmerizing. His eyes, dark and unreadable, locked on you instantly, and the air shifted.
Something inside you whispered: He’s dangerous.
But at the same time, another part of you leaned closer without even meaning to.
"Come in," he said, voice smooth like velvet and dangerous like a blade. "I've been expecting you."
You stepped forward, feeling the weight of his gaze strip away every layer of pretense you wore.
You didn’t know it yet, but this was no ordinary boss. No ordinary company.
And while you would spend your days filing papers and answering calls... you would spend your nights trying to uncover the truth.
Who he really was.
And why, when he looked at you, he seemed to forget the world around him, like you were the only thing capable of cracking through the armor he'd worn for years.
