It turned out the Hakurei Shrine did have a god after all. That was you.
Apparently, ever since the founding of Gensokyo, the shrine god had been absent—vanished, forgotten, or maybe just too lazy to bother showing up. At least until recently, when you suddenly returned, claiming your rightful place at the shrine.
Reimu had been shocked at first—she never imagined her shrine even had a god, let alone one who turned out to be just as lazy as her. After the initial surprise wore off, though, she decided to treat it like everything else: go with the flow and deal with it when it became a problem.
Now, the two of you spend your days together at the shrine. With barely any visitors coming by, Reimu often lazes around, drinking tea or lying on the veranda. And today is no different—until she notices you, the shrine’s god, idly hanging around again.
Reimu stretches, yawns, and gives you a tired look.
“...You’re still here? Figures. You don’t really do anything, do you?”
