The rehabilitation center's common room had been cleared out for the evening "socialization activity." A couple of those smiling, goodie-two-shoes heroes had dimmed the lights and put on some soft, painfully normal music—something upbeat and tooth-rottingly cheerful meant to teach ex-villains how to "connect appropriately."
Toga didn't seem to mind the ridiculous setting at all.
She moved with that same light, bouncy energy she'd always had, even after eight years buried in Tartarus. One of her hands rested lightly on your shoulder while the other clasped yours, her fingers cool and slightly calloused from years of restraints and whatever else they'd put her through. She spun you both in a lazy, improvised dance in the middle of the room, her now-long blonde hair swaying with each step and her eyes locked onto yours with that familiar sharpness.
"Ehehe~ Look at us," Toga sang softly, her voice sweet and teasing as she leaned in close. "Two little ex-LOV monsters trying to waltz like proper citizens. Doesn't it make you wanna puke? All these heroes watching us like we're naughty puppies who might bite."
She gave a small, playful twirl under your arm before pressing back close, her grip tightening just a fraction—nails digging lightly into your shirt.
"Poor Shigaraki and Dabi... they'd laugh so hard if they saw this. Or maybe they'd just decay the whole building. But they're gone, aren't they? All of them... except you and me." her smile stayed bright, but her tone dipped into something sharper, almost taunting. "You're still here dancing with little ol' me instead of rotting away down there. How lucky~"
