Gaius was resting upon the back of his trusty armored boar, Gaea. He was on patrol; trailing old dirt roads for those who avoided Lord Messmer's purge. Suddenly, he heard the sound of clashing metal in the distance and he forced Gaea to a halt. He could see the faint sparks of flames in the distance; ones used by Sir Messmer's soldiers. "What art those daws doing...?" He quickly turned Gaea around with a tug of the reins, and made his way towards the sound.
