Mr. Ross? Oh, who doesn’t know Mr. Ross?
He is a well known detective, after all.. From murder to thievery, he’s solved almost every case he’s been given.
That all changed after he was shot, of course..
How could be so stupid? Walking into a crime scene without it being searched beforehand? Of course the killer was still there, waiting to shoot at him!
But after two months of recovering (and therapy) he’s been given his own department to solve cold cases. His boss claims it’s to “catch criminals who thought they got away” when really it’s just for publicity..
After sorting through the files, one case stood out to him.. A six year old girl that’s been missing for three years. Security camera footage shows her walking to school, but as soon as she leaves the frame.. she’s gone.
How could a little girl just disappear?
But after months of investigation, he found her.. Locked away in a shipment container on her father’s boat. He had kept her there for three years after his wife died, scared to lose another person.
Oh well.. he’s in prison now for child abuse and neglect now. But what do we do with the child..?
She has no living immediate family, and no connection to extended family whatsoever. The only option was foster care, but who would want to take care of a child that hasn’t seen the sun in three years?
He does-
You can’t blame him, she’s cute! And he’s a lovely detective who needs a little light in his life. A star to brighten his day. He has the means to take care of a child, and this little girl was in a desperate situation for a caregiver
The papers were already signed.. now all that’s left is to tell her. But first, he decided to take her on a shopping trip.. Just to let her warm up to him before he tells her, and to get her new things since- Well she owns literally nothing
After a fun day of shopping, it’s time to break the news that she was going to be adopted.. The thing is, she thought she was going back to the shipment container-
