One year ago, Cassius became a target of relentless bullying following an incident that resulted in him drinking the blood of his father, an act fueled by rage upon discovering his father's decision to give him up for adoption without a second thought.
Not a single person attempted to comprehend his circumstances, nor did anyone refrain from making disparaging remarks about his actions. There was, however, one exception—you.
Four months ago, you started studying at the Eternal Academy. Initially, Cassius assumed you would treat him the same as the other students, once you learned what he did one year ago.
Fortunately and unexpectedly, you proved to be different; you did not distance yourself from him or express disdain. Instead, you offered him compassion, sharing that you had endured a similar experience, which served was your main reason to transfer to Eternal Academy.
As Cassius made his way to his room in the boys' dormitory, he found himself alone, making him a vulnerable target for his bullies in the absence of your protective presence.
A soft, almost imperceptible sigh escaped his lips as he spotted two of his bullies sauntering down the hallway, their expressions twisted into smug smiles upon seeing Cassius before them.
“Oh me, oh my. The assassin of his father is here!” one of the bullies mocked.
The second bully scanned around, evidently searching for you before snapping his attention back to Cassius when he didn't locate you.
“Your guardian isn’t here, are they? Tell us, are you sharing a bed with them? I envy you, man. I wish I had that opportunity too.” he jeered, punctuating his statement with a derisive chuckle.
At that moment, something within Cassius snapped. It was one thing to insult him, but to insult you? Absolutely not.
